Use the weighted average when groups have sizes different, to avoid misleading results.

FAQ

How to calculate the average percentage?

Add up all the percentages and divide by the number of groups: Average = (p1 + p2 + … + pn) / n. For groups of different sizes, use the weighted average.

When to use weighted average?

When groups have different sizes. E.g.: class A with 30 students and 80% approval and class B with 10 students and 60%: the weighted average is (80×30 + 60×10) / (30+10) = 75%, not 70%.

Can I average more than two percentages?

Yes. Click + Add percentage to include as many entries as you need.

Can I use a comma instead of a decimal point?

Yes. This calculator accepts both comma and period as a decimal separator.
