How the day counter works

The calculation uses a simple formula: Days = End Date − Start Date. The difference is expressed in whole days.

Frequently asked questions

How do you count the days between two dates?

Simply select the start date and the end date. The result is automatically calculated by subtracting the smaller date from the larger and converting the difference into days.

What happens if the dates are reversed?

If the end date is before the start date, the result will be displayed with a negative sign (e.g.: −15 days), indicating that the end date is earlier than the start date.

What happens if both dates are the same?

If both dates are the same, the result will be 0 days, as there is no difference between them.

What is calculating days between dates useful for?

It is useful for calculating deadlines, due dates, age in days, contract duration, vacation days, the difference between events, and many other financial and everyday applications.
